It is no surprise we were chosen to handle the high volumes required by another Australian prison because Speed Queen machines are well known for their durability and reliability.
Moving heaven and earth, but mostly mud
Another prison install we managed was at the Darwin Correctional Centre in the Northern Territory. This proved to be a tough install, but we were up for the challenge. The site is effectively hacked out of the bush outside Darwin, so transport was going to be an issue.
On the day of the install, the team faced 35-degree heats with 100% humidity. The roadways were virtually unusable rivers of mud. To make matters worse our team was working out of a concrete and steel shed with no power or ventilation, so it was like a furnace inside.
Despite the conditions, we delivered. The order was fulfilled and installed seamlessly in just two days.
