On Tuesday 1 March 2022, Speed Queen Equipment Sales (SQES) was purchased by the father and son team of Ross and Duncan Gardiner. SQES was established by the Cameron family in 1962 and was not only one of the first Speed Queen distributors outside the USA, but also set up Australia’s first self-serve coin laundromat (pictured above!). Headquartered in Melbourne, SQES is the official Speed Queen distributor in Victoria and Tasmania.
As owners of Speed Queen distributorships in New Zealand and Queensland (Andrew Barton), Ross and Duncan have decades of experience in the commercial laundry industry. They are looking forward to continuing the growth of the business with its proud history of supplying the best commercial laundry equipment backed by excellent customer service.
There is also a change in who is responsible for Speed Queen sales in South Australia and Northern Territories. These are now under the remit of F. L. Costello, the longstanding Speed Queen distributor in WA and NSW.
With the change of distributor comes renewed focus on Speed Queen sales and support. F.L. Costello has invested in a warehouse and showroom in Enfield (Adelaide) allowing direct local supply of parts and equipment to match that enjoyed by the other states of Australia. With local staff already in place and the equipment/spares on their way Adelaide and SA is open for business! Any shortfalls can be sourced from other branches.
