Enhance your laundromat's customer experience

Jul 11, 2023 | Advice, laundromat

The engineers at Speed Queen continually create amazing innovations in commercial laundry like our new condenser dryer, cloud connected machines through Insights, Touchscreen washers and dryers... But today we wanted to update you on a new development for laundromats.

Our top people have been hard at work thinking about how customer experience in a laundromat could be improved.  They've considered everything,  from play areas for kids to disco lights and cage fights for adults.  We've finally settled on a truly revolutionary idea.

Tables

No joke, we've recently seen a trend of more and more Laundromats installing more tables, which has had a substantial impact on their customer satisfaction and retention, and therefore profit.

Why Tables?

The most significant benefit provided by tables is to provide a convenient workspace for your customers. No one enjoys having to squat down and organise things on the floor. Your customers might use the table to organise various baskets and cleaning chemicals before heading to machines, or they could use it to fold and organise clean garments.

Organising equipment should be self-explanatory, but your customers will LOVE being able to fold washing easily inside your laundromat. It incentivises them to use dryers, and then fully complete their laundry chore for the day before heading home. This is not only efficient for them but also means they leave your laundromat feeling satisfied with a job completed.

What sort of tables should I choose for my Laundromat?

When it comes to choosing the right tables for your laundromat, durability and size are key factors to consider. You want tables that can withstand the wear and tear of constant use, and that are easy to clean and maintain. spills will likely occur on these tables, so they should be resistant to long exposure from cleaning chemicals.

In terms of size, make sure the tables are large enough to accommodate multiple customers at once, but not so large that they take up too much space in your laundromat. Your customers need room to maneuver inside your Laundromat, and a spacious environment is far more welcoming than a cramped one. If you're looking for an example, check out a recent install we did on a 24/7 Laundromat in Redbank Plains;

As you can see, these robust tables are easy to clean and access, while not interfering with access to the machines around them, they also add a fun splash of colour to the site, which makes it more friendly.

What if I don't have enough space?

Unfortunately, not every site is large enough to fit tables, sometimes picking the right sight means focusing on location rather than floorspace, such as a small site under an apartment building. In this situation, your location and convenience are your ultimate selling point, so tables are less relevant, and removing machines to install tables would likely reduce revenue by more than tables would increase it.
